Tasks on Toloka are sourced from requesters worldwide. Some projects are introduced to our platform via collaborations with our partners. These projects launch in a separate browser tab and have unique criteria for selecting performers. We’ll provide guidance on key areas to help you access more of these types of projects.

How it works

External platforms are websites dedicated to data classification tasks, similar to those on Toloka. To access these tasks, you must first pass a language proficiency test in English or any other languages you’re fluent in. Once you’ve passed, external projects will automatically show up in your Toloka feed.

Task completion

You don’t have to sign up separately for tasks from our partner platforms; they’re already integrated into the Toloka interface. To begin a task, just click the Start button next to your chosen task in the feed. This action opens a new window directing you to the partner platform, where you’ll be automatically authorized. You’ll have two hours to work on this active task link. After completion, the external window will close, bringing you back to Toloka.

Receiving payment

Once you complete a project, the reward will be credited to your Toloka account within a few hours. Occasionally, the transfer might take up to 24 hours. If you haven't seen your payment within this time frame, please reach out to our support team. We’ll look into the issue and resolve any concerns.

Important note: tasks from external platforms are paid only after undergoing quality control. In such cases, the credited reward will initially show as unavailable for withdrawal for several days, up to a maximum of a week. Once the external platform verifies task quality, the funds will be transferred to your active balance, and you can withdraw them.

Important note: Before your reward is processed, your completed tasks need to pass quality control checks. Because of this, the reward may be marked as “unavailable for withdrawal” for up to a week. After the external platform approves your submission, you can withdraw the funds.

Basic requirements from external platforms

While Toloka collaborates closely with external platforms, we operate as separate entities. This means we might not always have immediate information regarding task criteria or any sudden changes. However, we strive to provide the most up-to-date requirements here and commit to keeping you informed of any updates.

Don’t list more than 3 languages in your profile

To access tasks from external platforms, passing the English language test is crucial. Additionally, listing more than three languages in your profile — regardless of their verification status — could restrict your access to certain tasks. You can manually remove unverified languages from your profile. For languages you’ve already been tested on, please contact our support team for assistance.

🌏 Enable geolocation

To get tasks on external platforms, your location often matters. Make sure the address in your Toloka profile matches your actual location and your device's geolocation settings. Discrepancies may result in task unavailability.

📲 Avoid using VPN

Turn off VPNs, anonymizers, or any other services that mask your real location. Your geolocation should show where you truly are.

✅ Approach tasks with care

If you make mistakes often or don’t follow task instructions, you could lose access to tasks from external platforms. Toloka won’t notify you about these restrictions.

Can’t see the projects you want?

Project availability on external platforms can vary day by day. If you can’t find a task you’re interested in, it might be temporarily gone but could return later. When this happens, check out other tasks on Toloka in the meantime. New ones are added every day, so there's always something for you.
